@ktosi11 i own a 53 plate leon, it's badged cupra 20vt, it's 180bhp and has white dials, my mate has an 52 plate leon, it's badged cupra 20vt, it,s 180bhp and has white dials, also both log books state cupra 20vt, not R, not FR. Cupra R started out with 210bhp, couple of years later tweaked to 225bhp, as far as i know FR was only available on the diesel models. The mk2 leon has the FR in the petrol line up, aswell as cupra.

I used to have one of these too! 20VT Cupra in blue metallic and the leather interior.
Like you I do still miss the acceleration. If only it didn't drink petrol and cost so much to tax....

It's not an FR either, it was an original '20VT Cupra' (not at FR, 20VT, Cupra R or any other variant). It was a 2001/2 model year before the Cupra badge was dropped (and subsequently put back on). The reason I know is I bought it brand new in December 2001 and got rid of it in December 2004 (this was my car!) It was in Bronze Metallic (metallic lucozade!) a colour only available before the phase 2 bodykit was added for the 2003 model year. For it's day (almost 10 years ago) it was a quick car!

I thought Cupra's had White dials. (I have a TDI), I take it this is a petrol from the rev range?
Ah good old TC light......lol

Think the later models did? Though the name was changed to 20VT for a while before the Cupra badge went back on. Mine was registered in December '01 and I changed it in Dec '04 - but still miss the performance most days! TCS was poor on my model, far to aggressive in the way it cut the power, still was a few years ago and TCS was in it's early days for road cars!
