@IFwetrust1 well in that case drilling is the fastest and easiest. portable drill with a bit, i used a 1inch spade bit. but if your ice is over a foot or two your gona need to spend a lota money on a 3footer bit.if the ice is under 10 inches u can axe it out witha hatchet in 3mins, or go buy a new auger? i have a cheap ass one that i have had for ever and its very light. just gotta have sharp blades.if u use the same holes theres many methods to- keep them from freezing

@milldabeast519 i only asked because the ice auger i own is heavy and i have to hike in a mile over a field to get to the creek system i trap.......i was only wondering if their was an easier quicker method other than an ax or auger

@IFwetrust1 lol do u need instructions on shoe tieing also??

How much did it weigh? You will make some big bucks off that one!

Great Trapping!

@trappintommer or an auger --_--

if you tie your rope off on the top eye, go through the bottom one and then pull you will only need half the pulling pressure to close the spring!! just a thought anyhow.
nice beaver too.

nice demo men verry nice!!
what do you use to get them to come in?
dreamgutarist14 1 year ago
@dreamgutarist14 The set is placed under the ice near the feedbed. They are already coming to the feedbed for food so there is no need to get them to "come in"

how do you guys make the hole in the ice?
IFwetrust1 1 year ago
@IFwetrust1 I used an axe but you can also use an ice chisle or even a chainsaw.

Have you tried wiring the bait sticks directly to the trigger?
gdasgasgsags 1 year ago
@gdasgasgsags No because when the beaver comes to the bait on the trap it is going to try to take the bait with it's front feet and tuck it under it's chest and swim through. They don't try to eat the bait off the trap, they will try to take the bait back to the house to eat it. The bait on the trigger makes the trigger heavy and too sensitive.
