I love when Sesame Street has ballet dancers as guest artists. This is the only exposure to the art that some kids ever see.
-
Those grande battements are even harder the way she's doing them- en pointe! These Suzanne clips were some of why I grew up to be a ballet dancer myself. Thanks for posting! :)

@jonnytbirdzback That is just so sweet, the way he says it :-)

Anyone else notice how LARGE the old Sesame Street News logo looked on the mid-1970s - early-1980s sketches? I imagine if they tried showing these today, it would cause overscan problems and be cropped pretty badly as a result, which is probably why they went back and replaced the old logos on the 1970s sketches with the 1986 variant, which was smaller and thus could be fully seen on an average TV screen without worry of overscan (I'm a video production nut, so I know how these things work)

She makes it look so easy. Such a tiny skinny person...but sooooo strong. Amazing control.

Sesame street was so different back then, when the original producers and writers were in charge. If something like that were done today, it would probably be elmo counting how many times fiddy cents says the word n****r!

The way the screen is messed up makes Suzanne actually look quite pretty.

Ha ha - Grover is so funny.

Haha poor Kermit and Grover. So niave. :)

Grover : "Nine, wow!" lol
I love Kermit.

Look up Suzanne Farrell dancing "little steps and big steps", she eats a little lunch (tiny yoghurt), and a big lunch (big yoghurt).
What did Grover say at the end?

That's her! I don't know much about ballerinas, but maybe you can do a search on her.
