Sometimes, even though God forgives us, we can't forgive ourselves.
Some say Pauls' thorn was beatings, or eye problems...maybe Paul's thorn is his conscience?
2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
How many times does our conscience beat us up over and over after sin -even when we have turned from it and God has forgiven us?
Peter had to live with his denial
John's pride (can we sit at your right hand in your kingdom?)
David - Beth-sheeba (wrote Psalm 32,38,51 mourning various sins he committed. 51 mourns the murder of Uriah)
Psalms 38:3-4,6,9,10,17,18,22 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. .. I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long... Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee. My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me... For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin... Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
Psalm 51 written after Bath-Sheeba
1 Timothy 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Matthew 26:40-41 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [Jesus is the Word.]
Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil [hurtful, guilty] conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (This is the pure water of the Word. Christ is the living Word. Cling to Him.)
When I watched this video and you brought up Paul's conscience being his "thorn in the flesh", I never thought of it this way before. All of the other explanations regarding his physical ailments didn't make sense to me. This one does. It should apply to all of us.
I was truly blessed by God to see this. Thank you.

Naturally God had to use sinners to inspire the Bible.Moses was a murderer.,Yet God with His own finger wrote and handed him the ten commandments.Jesus came to foregive us of our sins ,not to bring peace to the world. The very death of His son enabled the Holy Spirit to be given the influence upon the hearts of christians is a gift that is to sway our every thought and behavior
