This video was made between snowstorms during the U.S. East Coast blizzard of February 2010. It demonstrates the use of a solar cooker to make a pot of chicken soup on top of a snowdrift with freezing outside temperatures. It urges people to have a solar cooker on hand for emergencies and looks at solar cooking use around the world.
Any temp over 170 is a cooking temperature, slower of course but it can get the job done! Excellent video!

NIce vid. It can even be used to preheat water for cooking on the regular cooking stoves or perhaps even a homemade shower.

Way to go, Pat! Thanks for the thermometer shot. Shows I could solar bake bread in winter if I had a Sun Oven. My solar cookers will make soup, custard, applesauce, and other simple foods in winter if it is sunny, but not quite bake bread. Good job.

wow! infintely cool-- to be able to cook even in the snowstorm, when the power is out. Americans may really start to see how it can be useful even at home! THANKS!!
