Bagpipes
Sword Dance
Strength Sport - Highland Games
The weight used for distance throwing is reminiscent of a mace. The "Weight for Distance" contest involves hurling a 28 lb. or 56 lb. weight as far as possible. With a combination of balance, rhythm, and power, this is often considered a graceful athletic event.

  • "I do not need you to tell me how to celebrate my 'actual' heritage as you put it.. I can trace my families back to the time of Charlemagne, how about you? "

I was born and raised in scotland, I have lived in scotland every moment of my life. I dont have to rely on my ancestors for my identity.

  • Being born in Scotland does not make you scottish, nor does having scottish parents make you scottish. You can only be scottish if you were raised in scotland from an early age to adulthood. This allows scotland to change, form and mould your personality and charcter by scottish; culture, people, ideology, beliefs, sense of inward and outward perceptions, attitudes, worldview, kinship, community, behavioural traits, politics, as well as all of our weaknesses and such.

  • You know what?

Everyone here that's just arguing or has argued about who's Scottish and who's not are just a bunch of idiots who don't understand the difference between ignorance and defense. When you defend something, you don't attack others about what you are defending. When you are ignorant, you attack all those who oppose your views. Ignorance is a very "American" concept and every self-proclaimed Scot on here has been just as American as everyone else here. Get over it! It's a video!

  • is tis Bear Grylls doing the sword dance

  • What's that tune when the guy is dancing called?

  • @olivierbaghadi That cross between a highland fling and a grand mal seizure seen here was NOT the sword dance. Good Sweet Christ!

  • I find it interesting that everyone seems so intent on saying that you can't enjoy another culture without being from that culture. I am not of Scot decent that I am aware of and I have never lived in Scotland but i do like the culture (ie: music and folklore). Is it to be said that I am wrong to do so because I do not have Scot in my blood? I find it truly disturbing that ethnic groups say " You cannot like our stuff! You are not from here!" Does anyone else feel that way too?

  • Question: Do you play the bag pipes?

    Answer : Yes

    Question: Is it Hard?

Answer: Only when I cum in your face!!!!
