Ecosystems and floods: Opening message from Margareta Wahlstrom

Margareta Wahlstrom, the Chief of the United Nations disaster risk reduction office (UNISDR), gives an opening speech to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) organized conference on "Living with floods, at the crossroads of risk reduction and the protection of rivers".

This conference, for the French public, is to provide an understanding on the role of the environment and ecosystems in reducing the risk of floods and the vulnerability of people and goods.
