I might get a little kids pool to put on my balcony when I move. I'm moving to a high rise and I won't have a lot of room to farm so I'm gonna grow Duck Weed to eat. Any suggestions?

@bigrikstube I've been doing research on aquaponics in preperation for my own system. Lava rock can work, however the general consensus is that it's so rough on the hands it's not really worth it. Pea gravel is proported to be a good medium, but you have to wash it first, which wastes water. @thegardenpool Love what you've done with the place! Would like to see some more in depth video guides, such as soilless seed starting, water maintenance, and black soldier fly composting.

Ok, so you are using the gutters as your starter bed.... How do you transfer the plants? Looks great.

@marthale7 It is pretty easy to move the plants around. You carefully pick them up as the roots do not stick to the grow medium, hydroton. The roots do not grow as large as they do when growing in soil as well. This makes gardening very easy.
