Tauron Crab Robot from Lost in Space

This is a replica prop Tauron crab robot from the Lost In Space episode The Sky Is Falling. On that episode it was a alien robot that preceded alien colonists to determine environmental conditions and collect rock samples. It was also able to utilize matter transfer and entered the Robinson spaceship through the closed hatch. Although for the episode it was designed to be as scary as possible, in my field test of it, it doesn't seem to threaten my cat very much. Apparently he thinks it's just a big toy mouse.

It was initially carved out of styrofoam, then sealed and figerglassed over. I dissolved out the styrofoam to create a 1/8" thick shell to house the electronics and drive system which is just a R/C crawler.
