Tom was busy today, so after shooting the EB Amtrak go by The Station Inn, I jumped into the Suburban and drove to Tyrone to meet it at the station there.
Got there about 5 minutes before it did (about 25 mile ride)-Very busy location.
At 2:09--Nittany & Bald Eagle Locos on the siding.
At 3:20-- Smoking traction motor on EB freight. Heard on radio later-they knew.
At 4:53 drove out on Rt. 453 about 5 / 6 miles to The Rock Quarry.
At 7:26 drove back on Rt. 453 about 2 miles from Tyrone and walked down a
barracaded road that was open for "fishing" and "railfanning"--no cars.
Tyrone offers nice curved track for videos. Doug

  • The conductor at 1:14 looks really familiar. I think I hung out with him at Railfest 2009 on the Saturday 10:20 excursion train in between cars. Cool guy! Anyways,,,, Great video with a TON of action. I don't think it should be in the Around Our Neighborhood series though...

  • @OhioRails Thanks, it was fun. There were even more meets at the Amtrak station,

I didn't want it to get to long.

I thought long and hard about the title, and now think you're right. Just changed it.

Thanks and see ya at The Inn some time. Doug

  • good stuff as always

  • @keanerulz25 Hi Keane, Your record of commenting first is broken. lol

I will email ya soon about a new shoot at The Inn in HD finally with new computer.

  • Hey Doug great video! Can you tell me where exactly you filmed that last train?

  • @EastMassParanormal Going out of Tyrone on Rt 453 (west--you go under the interstate) go bout 2 miles and you come to a circle turnout on the right side of the road. The road is barracaed to cars but the sign says--OK for fishing. I parked and walked downhill bout 3/400 yards. The bridge above the tracks is indeed Rt.453. Doug
