All the negative reactions: you're like the people that 100 years ago said telephones were useless. I bet you all have a mobile (or two)! Try twitter: it's to get in touch with interesting people, to meet leads and clients, to keep in touch with friends. It has expanded my horizon and brought me in contact with people I otherwise would never have met. And I mean IRL: In Real Life!

I think Twitter is dumb as dirt. I really don't get what the deal is. At best it's just a narcisstic tool that allows one to tell the world just what a narcissist you really are.

the only useful thing I can see with twitter is for someone to hand in live events where video feed is unavailable, such as some sports games, breaking news, and such... however, such systems have been around for a long time. Twitter therefore offers nothing new to me, other than gathering all of them under a single site.

When it comes to personal messages, facebook does the job pretty well. No need for twitter to submit what you are thinking or doing...
