The amount of married gay men showing disdain for this series are missing the fact that it's complete satire of how the LGBTQA community is depicted in the media, while simultaneously acting as a critique for how the marriage equality movement is being used to normalize people who don't identify as straight so they can be "non-threatening." Husbands says (almost) everything that really needs to be said, and it's absolutely brilliant.

In this episode, "less gay" pretty clearly means less flaming, effeminate, etc., but Cheeks' reaction to the phrase DOES provide nice commentary on what it means to be "less gay". So, kudos to the writers and actors.
