8th NEUE STIMMEN Master Class 2010

The 8th international NEUE STIMMEN Master Class took place in Gütersloh, Germany, from November 13 to 23, 2010. 14 young singers from 13 countries, participants of the NEUE STIMMEN 2009 competition, have been selected to participate.
In addition to our artistic director, Gustav Kuhn, this year we were especially pleased to welcome Francisco Araíza, John Norris and, for the first time, American mezzo-soprano Grace Bumbry. During the Master Class, the four instructors worked with our participants to rehearse opera and concert arias, ensembles and lieder, concentrating on musical, technical and performance aspects. The artistic team working with the young singers were completed by accomplished pianists such as Céline Dutilly, Peter Nelson, Manuel Lange and Raffaele Cortesi.
This year, for the first time, the private final concert at the Bertelsmann Stiftung on November 20 was followed by a gala Master Class concert at the Gütersloh Theater on November 23, 2010, which was open to the public.
