@dredtgreat You forgot the young man "Maull" or whatever his name was "I can even shoot in the dark" he bragged. You forgot Simon Battle also! Those names were so damn funny---like Roy Thursday, Johnny Cotton, Cass Callicott, John Jupiter, Panama Billings and Johnny Clover. Best shot ever? Colonel Douglas Mortimer (Van Cleef) in "spaghetti Westerns" "he was known as the best shot in the Carolinas, a great soldier, blast the balls off a flea at 97 miles!" But, McCain beats him!!

Wow, after that 2nd trick with the knife, I wonder what was the last lesson. I wish I could find the episode when Sammy Davis Jr. was supposed to be a sharp shooter, but was'nt. He was sharp shooting for the town people, but it was actually the Rifleman doing the actual shooting from out of view.
SDR was a courageous & multi-taltented young black man who faced extreme predjudice during his career. Even after losing an eye & nearly his life, he bore no grudges & believed in God's Love. You can see by this clip how diverse his talents were & what a good natured man he was. May he be in God's bosom.

This is the only episode in which Lucas would've lost! Even he feared it himself.
