It can also be used as a walkthrough, as I pick up every secret and follow the levels as (I think) the designers meant to be followed. Meaning I don't use any short cuts (so it's definitely not a speed run), in fact I take my time exploring each level, sightseeing the beautiful locations Lara explores, and enjoying the storyline. I got TRL for PSP but I can't do a time trail. what am i doing wrong???o.O

I don't know. I play it on the PC. After you complete each level time trial is unlocked. YOu go on to replay level, and change the dificulty to time trial.

Once you do the nepal time trial you get a cheat code to wear the sword wherever you like.
