  • Hi Canon,

When i film with my canon 600d each time i take a still i have a 1second moment where it no longer records did you edit this out for this video?

    thanks

  • @Jesper1Haraldsson Hey there, thanks for your question. What you can do is leave the still frame there (while video editing) or extract a still image from the video clip. Many thanks, the Canon team.

  • We are aware that some users have experienced this issue. Canon is always looking to improve technologies so they deliver a better experience for the end user. As such they have made some adjustments to the EOS 5D Mark II video feature only at this stage and may well in the future look to make similar changes to other or new models.

  • Hey Johnny!

    Great questions.

There is no prime lens which provides an exact 50mm equivalent but a good one to look at would be the EF35mm f/2.0. This offers a focal length of 56mm when used on an EOS 500D and has a large aperture of f/2.0, giving you a beautiful shallow depth of field.

  • Hi Canon, hope you're staying warm on this cold winter morning.

I love my 500D, especially the video mode, but was wondering if a firmware upgrade is being planned for manual control of the ISO, aperture and shutter speed during video mode, just like the 5DmkII?

I assume this is possible as they both run the same Digic version. It'd be a really swell update, just so you know.

  • i have Canon 550D and its Full HD video quality is just awesomee !

    better dan Blueray movies

  • hi canon. thanks, that's the lens i'm using to great effect, but i think you meant to answer this question on your "choosing lenses"video :)

    cheers anyway

  • Is there any noticeable rolling shutter with the HD video function? I've heard some folks experience wobble in the frame if the camera has much lateral movement while recording.

  • oh.. and since i'm typing out a wish list, an option for a frame rate other than 30fps, like 25fps perhaps, would be amazing as then the footage would be much easier to work with as a PAL standard (quite important in both Europe and Australia) it would look more "cinematic" and best of all, and best of all, the footage wouldn't flicker under incandescent lighting running at 50Hz (again quite important in both Europe and Australia).

Cheers, iI really do love my 500D. thanks for listening canon.
