Yes - Seven Brisbane really needs to do something - their 50th promotion has been non-existent - Nine is powering on with this campaign. Hopefully this will assist their news ratings and place more pressure on Seven to rediscover what Brisbane is about (which is much more than the advertorial Great South East program once a week).

Yes, good point!
Yet, on a slightly humorous not; I don't think Dunn's face has ever been seen on Seven, nor his voice on Nine...

BTQ 7 really does have to pick up its game and do something.. QTQ 9's promos have been great this year !!

The surprise packet is strangely Jamie Dunn.
Dunn has had a lifelong link to Seven Brisbane with his alterego "Agro", but for 7 to see this, I would say, any work 7 has for Jamie to do with their big 5-0, has just dried up.
Either that or Dunn's opinion of the modern Seven "branch office" has shifted, after a "failed" crosspromotion between the 6pm Ch 7 news and 4BC earlier this year.
I hope they pull this campaign now after reading they'll axe Extra next week! Nobody will take it seriously.
I'm expecting Heather Foord to take Bruce's place at Nine News now.

No, Networking For Queensland!
If you saw all the comments on OurBrisbane, on a article on the axing, most were praising, and very parochial.
Nine could dig themselves into a hole deeper for QTQ (thanks to Sydney) than what Fairfax did to HSV-7 in 1987.

Yes, I checked out the OurBrisbane site just then, & I can't remember the last time I've seen people react to the cancelling of a TV show like it was the death of a prominent individual. You wouldn't get that if Nine also axed, say ACA (knowing how long that show has been running - at least in name only).
It's clear Nine have decided that if Extra can't work in Sydney, then it won't work anywhere else. Only hope now for Queensland is if every state gets their own Extra again (massive gamble).

Stan, I am tipping, yet another change is in the works for the campaign.
But this change will be good, not bad.
With the recent departures of Paige and The Shak's Picasso, another new promo may be shot, possibly to tie in with 9's sponsorship of Brisbane's 150th birthday as a city in September.
Lets just say, if this happens, Seven will have to scramble, as I am tipping, the "Queensland" in "Nine For Queensland" will become "Brisbane" (as in "Nine For Brisbane"), before 2009 ends.

Yes, you maybe right there because QTQ have been playing a lot of musical chairs of late.
Yet, wouldn't a "Nine For Brisbane" campaign alienate the Gold Coast viewers? Knowing that; "Nine For South East Queensland" just doesn't have the same ring to it... :/

And after what they did to The Shak, now it's None For Queensland, i.e if you want a Brisbane TV job, you have to commit yourself interstate.
