When I looked at the frame data, I calculated Ryu to be at -3 frames after a perfectly timed safe-jump option-select dp when Bison teleports. So I thought to myself... Bison's crouching short is 3 frames, and this was the test result.

The first few attacks are just to verify that the safe-jump was setup correctly. I tried to do EX Headstomp, EX Devil's Reverse, EX-Scissors, and EX-Psycho crusher. I also blocked and ate the attack to verify that the dp wouldn't come out.

The last bit is the actual punish.

If Ryu doesn't have perfect timing on his safe-jump, this actually gets easier for Bison.

I haven't tried this in a real match though, this was just from brainstorming and hitting the lab. So it's possible there's a way out of this.

Also, Ken's lp dp recovers much more quickly, so this wouldn't work on him. This works even better on Akuma though.

  • you coudn't use standing teleport to be closer for a bigger combo punish? or will he do a different OS?

  • @TheVeteran919 You could use the forward teleport + 3k to punish with a bigger combo, but it will lose if Ryu does hurricane kick OS (which he will do if he thinks you will backwards teleport).

  • I suppose you'd have the time to punish an OS tatsu with this too! :O

    I'd never think of using (forward) teleport in such a way, especially when I usually want to get away, good stuff m16!

  • @BentoBox lol I didn't actually bother calculating the frame data until you guys started discussing it in detail.

    I actually always knew you could forward teleport, but it still seemed too risky because I thought Ryu couldn't get punished for attempting the OS. He doesn't lose anything by attempting it.

    But if he can actually be punished for attempting the OS, he has to consider the risk, and mind games come into play.

  • @jappy88 ryus option select is the moment you do any air normal stronger than jab or short, you should buffer the dp. if the normal whiffs, you will do a dp. if it hits you will do nothing. u prob figured that out but its whatevs

  • nice video... but what are the inputs? is it DP LP+HK before u land? or you input HK first then quickly input DP LP?

  • @m16ghost Oh right! forgor about that hurricane OS.....*sigh* fighting a good shoto is a full time job these days lol. Last time i checked the classifieds to fight daigo they offered 42$ an hour to anyone that could do beat him consistenly....sheesh. You should check out my bison corner reset. not that practical but just a little addition to his vast repitoir lol.

    ryu's os is always a mind game but bison players just do the obvious, when they have no meter obviously they teleport but when they get meter then it's pc. Try to teleport when you have meter and when you don't have meter just block. Once the ryu player notices you teleporting then they will try to os tatsu and then that's when you do ex sk.
