  • Pasolini was a kind of champion of this film, "Sweet Movie". He saw it and loved it, then he helped it to get a distributor in Italy, and he supervised the translating of it and the dubbing of it into Italian. He translated these lyrics, too. When it was released in Italy, he put his name on it as "presenter" to help sell it. I think it influenced his own "Salo" the following year.

  • Wonderful film , and lovely musik .!!

  • Wonderful film , and lovely musik .!!

  • Actually the lyrics were written by the composer, Manos Hadjidakis. The song was originally written in 1945 for the Greek theatrical play "We'll reap in summer'' by Alexis Damianos and was used later for the film. Pasolini only translated the lyrics.

  • Oh, very interesting! Thank you!

  • The words in the film are in greek. They wer written by Nikos Gatsos and not by Pasolini. Pasolini only translated them

  • You're right, they sing in Greek.

  • I think, in the "Sweet movie" they sing this song in Greek. I dind't know the words are by Pasolini. It's by the end with the scenes of recovering the victims of Katyn.
