Running neck and neck with the O'Jays in the 70's here is a wonderful tune about the ghetto from the awesome Spinners

Aside from the fantastic music and vocals, what makes this song special unlike the music of today, it is about rising above the situations in the ghetto, now if we could only get back into that mentality, instead of glorifying the negative parts of the ghetto.

  • I may be 16 but I know music and this is it

  • YOU KNOW SOMETHING AND I'LL BE FLAT OUT HONEST !! I DIDN'T PICK UP

ON THE LYRICS UNTIL I STARTED HAVING FLASHBACKS OF MY CHILDHOOD

AND MY TEENS AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. EVERY BIT OF THIS

SONG REMINDS ME OF MYSELF GROWING UP. I CAN RELATE BIG TIME !!

  • Beautiful music by some beautiful human beings... Did y'all catch their 'UNSUNG' special on TV One? God Bless The Spinners!!! Magnificent.

  • them n tom bell was like a marriage made in heaven

  • It must have been terrifying living in the ghetto if all the men dressed like this....

  • Those were beautiful times back then. Much better then they are in today's troubled world now. The music then had meaning, along with beautiful memories you can relate too in your past. Today, the world is gray, not rosey like it use to be in so many ways. Going back in time, with the beautiful songs left in our hearts and minds, will never cease with me.

  • I can relate to this song, when I run away from home at 17.......

  • Damn I wish I was alive back then. Those seemed like some beautiful times.
