How is it possible to improvise for so long?? It´s like an incredibly long rehearsed song. It´s amazing how you just keep on playing and always know the next notes, where to add chords, what chord when, short licks, solos etc it´s just goes on and on and still looks like you´ve done this erlier like a song you played before. DAMN!
This both motivates me & break me at the same time. Like walking into a reverse escalator where someone kicks me down by the top. Oh well, just keep on practicing..

Why not learn both, as well as country, blues, metal, and anything else you can possibly get your finger on?

If you mean you favor jazz skills on guitar to just rock guitar stuff, i agree. It's great to know both.

Oh my god, the Use Me parts. <3 That is way too much talent in one room (individually and collaboratively).

I'll say it depends on the players, I mean look at Yngwie Malmsteen and his technicle prowess and then look at Django Reinhardt and his technicle prowess.

My guess would be either the guitar or the amp got the volyme knobs turned down a bit. Since Phil uses overdrive from the amp and when I personally have used different tube amps my guess would be, when the volyme is turned down a bit on either guitar or amp the sound gets fuzzier instead of distorted and "powerfull". I hope I made that at least a little understandable. If not, ignore and hate one me ;)
