In any case, Albert is not Edmond's son in the book either, so the anime got it right. amazing anime, simply heartbreaking.. i wish it was more popular cause it deserve it very much.. am sad that the creators didn't show at the end all of them together at the party, that would warm my heart forever.. maybe one day i'll even read a book if i ever find it.. i enjoyed this anime unlike any other it was amazing on a different level.. for the last wait and hope.. :)

Stop comparing the book 2 the anime the story is different but the idea is to tell it from different point of veiw. In the book Edmond Dantes is a hero for taking vengance, this is easier to understand because you see all the pain he went through in the book. But in the anime the point of veiw is of a bystander(Albear de Morcerf) who suffers the wrath of Edmonds vengance on his parents, so edmond is portrayed more like villian and in reailty he kinda is.

HELLA fucking good anime, really sucked me in (watched the whole series today) and although the plot was all wack at first, i got over it and enjoyed the drama. I love the book, and I love the anime. Really, REALLY powerful.

WHAT!!?? ENMOND DIIIIIES D: NOOOOOOO!!!!
I couldn't agree with you more! Sure, it took major liberties with the plot, but this anime captured the magical quality of the Count and that world like no other film adaptation. I adore this anime!!!!! Monte Cristo burns like ice!

This is the best song ever used for the ending of an anime. That's for bloody sure.
The anime itself is a work of art. The best and one of the few that actually made me cry my heart out. I can't say "Happy Birthday Albert" without remembering that episode, I cried continuously for about 2 hours afterwards... never seen the like.
Anyway, this is a great song. Thanks 4 the lyrics! ♥♥♥
