On April 25, 2009 PAA (Pilipino-American Alliance) hosted their 2nd annual production of Barrio Fiesta. The event featured dancing, music, spoken word, and cultural performances to celebrate the accomplishments of talented Filipino's.

The Pilipino-American Alliance (PAA)s objective is to promote and preserve the Filipino culture and heritage while encouraging cultural awareness and honoring cultural diversity. The PAA will encourage unity among UC Merced staff, faculty, student body, and maintain relationships with other universities/colleges and community organizations, such as the Central Valley Chapter of the Filipino American National Historical Society (F.A.N.H.S.).

PAA was founded during Fall 2005 and became one of the first clubs of UC Merced. Before UC Merced opened its doors to the first Golden Bobcats, many students had already acknowledged an interest with creating an organization based on the Pilipino/Pilipino American culture. Starting as a social group, PAA has grown into an active group in and out of UC Merced since its establishment.
