@noftchks1 That is why we need diversification of our economic model. Pumping raw bitumen & resources, without any value added products, is stupid economics. Your comment reveals the precise reason why we need to stop focusing on the oil sands and begin focusing on diversifying our economy. This is economics 101: diversify. Moreover, raw bitumen/resource extraction gives very few jobs relative to capital extracted by international corporations. I say nationalize the oil sands 4 the people!!

It's just infighting.
Look at this hippie fighting against Canadian progress. He's so against the oilsands, but he has no idea how much the oilsands already benefit our country.
That's the problem --- All these hippies protest against the oilsands, but they never really do the research and see that it's such a huge economic driver of our economy.
You want to be bankrupt like the US? Alberta oilands is the reason why we're not!!!

I piss myself when I hear the US whining about NAFTA. We have to sell them our oil for the same price we sell it to our own citizens or face "litigation" to say the least. Canada needs to become a more protectorate economy or fall with the empire next door. The US has become a fire sale as everything corporate shifts global. Canada needs to start worrying about taking care of itself and if we sell, we do it to the highest bidder. Profit is what capitalism is about, is it not?

bad for the enviroment! but good for the economy!maybe look at ways of less poluting but very good if you have a job and a family!but im liveing in england at the moment and its shit here! im trying to get a job in the oil sands im canadian and if i get offerd a job as drillers helper or labourer ill be there like a rat up a drainpipe!to feed my family is more important to me than anything,any contact numbers for a job anyone?
