Persistent Systems (PSL) uses SmartCloud Analytics Log Analysis to reduce the time it takes to fix Application Issues by being able to quickly search and correlate across all of their different application logs.




TRANSCRIPT: Persistent is a global company specializing in software product and technology innovation.
For more than two decades, we have partnered closely with pioneering start-ups, innovative enterprises and world's largest technology brands, like IBM.
We have utilized our fine-tuned engineering processes to develop best in class solutions for our customers across North America, Europe, and Asia.
One of the major challenges which our business faces today is the sheer volume of log files.
Earlier, we used to have one particular application to serve our business solution.
Nowadays, a business solution will be addressed by multiple applications, that means, a application needs to interact with not only their own organizations' applications, it also needs to interact with the applications outside of organizations.
So I will say that our challenge is like searching a needle in a heterogeneous, multiple haystack.
Before SmartCloud Analytics, our dependence on experts to understand and gain insights from application log files was very high and it was time consuming.
With the SmartCloud Analytics, we need to do this one time.
We can use this knowledge repetitively and, this has increased the productivity and time to address the particular issue has reduced.
This also has given us an insight into how we need to design the log analytics or log file creation and while doing this, product design itself.
I think this is another added advantage of using the SmartCloud Analytics.
One of our front-end application was crashing and we were not able to trace the exact cause of the problem.
With the SmartCloud Analytics, we created a service topology and added all the dependant applications to get better insights from various applications log files.
Using SmartCLoud Analytics, we correlated all those log files and pinpointed the exact problem area.
Well, about SmartCloud Analytics, it's a one stop shop to get a view of all logs generated by various applications and ability to correlate them to get to the root of the problem very easily.
What is exciting about SmartCloud Analytics is the ability to advice based on the logs and eventually predict roadblocks in advance.
The openness of the platform to integrate additional log processing makes it very attractive.
The open architecture is going to help us in future to ensure that we can have our own log processing.
