"WTF Youtube?" by Old Fart Rants

Youtube is getting ready to "make things better" with their "new look" which they are forcing on every channel owner starting March 7th, whether we like it or not. When some corporate robots or focus groups decide to fix something that doesn't need fixing, it's like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa! It really makes you wonder what the hell is really going on! I hate what Youtube is forcing down our throats and I've let Google know that more than once. So have a lot of other Youtubers - just look at the feedback boards! The general consensus is overwhelmingly against the changes -- like 99 to 1!. People are threatening to leave Youtube or start boycotts in protest. So I don't think there's any doubt this forced change is bad, unpopular, and unwanted. I don't really know why Youtube has decided to disregard the feedback from it's own content providers who've helped put them where they are, but one thing I do know is when things like this happen it's usually about money. I'm really worried about how my site will look and function after March 7th, and whether it's going to even be worth bothering with if we can't interact with each other the way we do now. But I don't know what can be done about it. So please, everybody jump in on this - I really want to hear your comments, so I'm turning this video over to you.

@C0ct0pusPrime it's a fucking nightmare. the previous format with my subscriptions separated by what videos they've uploaded was much easier to see what I haven't seen...this facebook-style 'feed' bullshit is worthless given how it allows one channel with regular daily uploads to drown everything else out and I have to manually go through channels to see if new shit has been added. fuck that noise.

I will not be happy at all if you tube in fact caves into what seems to be the 'media norm'

I have already boycotted cable and satalite TV , which claimed to begin with waould be comercial free , HUH we have to pay to watch comercials , I DON'T ! youtube leave us alone here or boycots will follow.

Bring back the "You" in You tube! Not "Them" tube! I want my 2007 youtube channel back please. March 7th will be the day my channel goes into "Archive" mode. Zippcast is more than likely going to be my new channel. If you miss the original You Tube then Zippcast is where it's at!

Tonight---every other posting I make----I get a Pop-Up "YouTube Not Available". Damn they should at least let you save what you just typed in "Comment" until such time that You Tube is available.

If youtube doesn't listen to it's followers, another alternative will be born and youtube will head the way of myspace...a dead end. There have been many great ideas that were killed by the people that are so much smarter than us minions. Problem is, the pandora's box of communication has been opened up, and the minions are saying, "don't close it". Youtube is as close an outlet of free speech that you can find anywhere for widespread communication. Don't change it.....sincerely, weareallanimals
