Rough draft of an original song by Emma Peterson and Sarah-Emma Graham recorded in a practice room at Colorado College, in honor of recent victims of bullying as a result of their sexual identity.

lyrics:
dear mother, father, sister, brother
i just want to be the same
i'm so sorry you can't love me

you think i'm sick, sinful, perverted, and disgusting
i feel sad, worthless, hopeless, anxious, and mad
my heart is broken and i can't breathe

the man next door displays his third wife just for fun
he's on his third, but i only ever wanted one

we couldn't find you on that fateful day
and later realized you took your life away
the kids at school hadn't seen the pain

and so one night we danced in the streets aglow with gold
and what we found was we just wanted you to grow old

take off your cloak of righteousness
your religious arguments are senseless
well i can quote the bible too

i look to harvey milk to tell me what to do
he says "you are not sick, you're not wrong, and god doesn't hate you"

forever the image of a sweet rose
will bring your memory like you're still home
i wish you'd known you weren't alone
