I used to think Welch was somewhat evil but as a leader I have grown and have changed my mind. Jack Welch Speaks the truth about business, the hard truth! The kinda of truth that is hard to accept sometimes.
I disagree that its a waste of my time, I stand for vigilance. I am the deterrent, I hold a mirror up to these crooks, I fulfill the role of necessary evil. I'm the watchdog who's waiting to pounce upon billionaire crooks who step on the small guy. I educate people about misconduct by Jack Welch, Martha Stewart, Bernie Madoff, Gerhardt Shroeder, Lawrence Summers, etc. Unfortunately the list is endless, but unless somebody is there to expose corporate injustice, a lot more lives will be ruined.
I'd suggest encouraging people to read more then, as opposed to beating a dead horse. If it is true that the majority of the population don't know this info...youd be better off volunteering reading out loud than leaving posts like this. Sounds like an ignorant group of people. I hear the frustration...it is not right. However my challenge is to do something more valuable with your time...It sounds like you have a lot motre to offer than screaming from the rooftops.
In short, I pay my taxes, my credit rating is in the top 2%, I volunteer my time without pay, I'm a responsible supervisor, and I'm a step-9 driver. For your information the general public is unaware as to how many regular workers were jettisoned from HBR so that they could pay off SW's contract, and JW's part in the conspiracy. But I'm going to tell everybody.... Coming soon to a theater near you!
What have you done for the US economy? How are you not being self righteous right now? Are you doing anything positive here? We all are very aware of what happened. I'm sure you are perfect yourself. Go help our economy and quit bashing those that you are not qualified to have a conversation with. While you are there, get a life of your own. You are one of the most disrespectful people I have encountered in some time. And that's saying a lot!
JW had an affair with a senior editor of Harvard Business Review, Suzy Wetlaufer. Scandal becomes public, his wife divorces him. JW married SW, who was since fired by HBR for the public scandal. SW was pissed when HBR refused to pay off her six-figure contract. JW got his expensive lawers to lean on HBR, who soon capitulated and paid off SW's contract. Twenty HBR employees were laid off in order to pay Wetlaufer's contract. All this according to SW's old secretary. JW is a self-righteous jerk!
He's a business legend. People that do not live up to their full potentials tend to dislike people that have succeed. In America at least, anything is still possible. Things might be bad now, but the economy will recover and the milk and honey will flow again. Never stop dreaming.
