Governor Martin OMalley Supports Google Fiber in Baltimore

Hi I'm Governor Martin O'Malley. I want to add my voice to the growing number of Marylanders urging Google to select Baltimore City for the installation of an ultra high speed broadband network. Baltimore is uniquely positioned to capitalize on such a network.

Our job creation efforts, particularly in the areas of life sciences and biotech, rely on immediate connectivity between the health, research, and entrepreneurial segments of our economy. The continued success of our students depends on their ability to connect to their teachers, information networks, and to each other from school and from home. And Baltimore's nonprofit community relies on their connectedness with the City's world-class business community.

Google's ultra high speed broadband network can help fuel the innovation that will ultimately drive economic progress, and Baltimore is the right place to start.
