Grand Canyon backpacking trip down the Tanner trail from Lipan Point to the Colorado river, across the Escalante route to Cardenas creek, Escalante creek, Seventy-five (75) mile canyon, Papago canyon and Red Canyon at Hance rapids, then the Tonto trail to Horseshoe Mesa and, finally up the Grandview trail to Grandview Point.   • I walked under this slide 800 feet below the rim while it was still live. It went the night before my hike. I had to go. I was the last hiker in for 5 months and I had the Escalante to my self for 7 days. The Escalante is my favorite place in the world.
