The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 150 laws protecting us from abusive or coercive practices.
CCHR has fought to restore human rights to mental health, including, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, risks of psychiatric treatments,
and the RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT. I was a victim of psychiatry for many years, Im not part of this cchr.org but agree 100%

A young adult...,why do you ask? What's important is that those suffering at ANY age get good doctors and a correct diagnosis, the sooner the better. It's a lifelong struggle.

i know what you mean, it is not fun one day you can talk to any one and the next you don't have confidence to look your self in the mirror...poeple just don't understand, they think you want to act like that, or you want attention. in my heart i am the best...people may not see that, i think i have cyclothymia.

Ooops, didn't mean to confuse anyone - I am his mother, but he does have the support of his brother.. I just need family to learn and read more to better comprehend what he is up against. After I shared video, I was relieved to see that he, himself reviewed it on his own. Now he sees that he is not alone out there, that others like him can understand this. Unfortunately lots of folks are not getting the help they so need (and deserve) Thanks again!

Best video ever! Thank you. Says it all, including dual diagnosis. I am a mother of three and now sharing this with other family members so that they can better understand and support their sibling. Finally after 10 years he was diagnosed correctly last year and is on a cocktail of meds, but still struggles with alcohol as always. He is a talented, funny, loving and sensitive young man who would do anything for anyone. He is bipolar, but that does not define WHO he is.

I wrote u an email...but I'll say the same to others. I've had this for 18 yrs., and will be glad to help via questions or concerns. I wish all of you, or those with loved ones with bipolar to be patient. It tends to be a progressive illness, and destructive in nature. Painful to you and others, and hard to cope with. So, trust me, I support and pray for all of us.

I'm in the u.k. I'm being treated for chronic cyclothymia. I understand that this is a form of bipolar. I am on 100mg of sertraline and it doesnt do anything. When I am low suicide comes to mind but I can resist it. Sometimes when I am happy I feel drunk and really silly. Sometimes I cannot stop my head from thinking and racing millions of thoughts. And people think it's mild. A friend said that I seem fine. I can be stable for weeks then begin to cycle and mix moods. What do you think?

First off thanks for watching my video. I ony can say that bipolar is complicated. I have a rather classic case of it, unfortunately. But you know the main thing is to make life improvements...reduce stress, do a job you like, have healthy relationships, reduce negativeness, get exercise, don't drink/drugs, and work with your docs. It's all a big experiment until you recach some form of stability. It takes patience for sure. I've had it twenty years now,and can't believe it. Best wishes n luck!
