A trick I realized as a kid that will give you a huge advantage in the board Spiny Desert if your first dice roll is either a 7 or 8.

Huge advantage? The game is full of randomness. Maybe I played against the computer too much, but it always annoys me to no end how they get all the hidden star blocks while I keep getting 1s and 2s. And those battle minigames based entirely on luck... ugh.

@firestormiv Yeah, those were really cool. I know this game is based on luck, but hey I won this one with more than 300 coins in the end, sucking the COM's with Dueling Gloves. I had only 1 star, too, but I got all of the Bonus Stars in the end, as well because I kept getting the whole party sucked by the sand pits in, like, every turn until the 5th. :F

I always thought it was silly that Bowser gave you coins when he's the bad guy. It was super unexpected when it happened when I was a kid, haha.
