I love your videos. It would have been more helpful to have put them in order for making a platter, from start to finish, showing us how you trimmed the bottom. did you add a foot to the bottom?

my question concerns the platter and drying. how do you best dry a platter of that size to minimize cracking?

yes.. sometimes it changes a bit depending on the type of clay the slip is made from.

after you fire it would the color of the slip still be there?

yes, slip is basically just clay. So, it would need to be fired. You can put slip on before you fire, or after you fire, but if you put it on after you fire, you would need to fire again.

the slip is just another color of clay that is watered down. It's sort of used like paint.
