I was 16 years old and Brian was 17 when I met him backstage at a local theatre here in San Diego called Jr Theatre for young people..He was in Oklahoma with some of my friends and of course he played Curly..I was mesmerized by his voice EVEN at his young age of 17..WE all knew even back then...GREAT things were coming his way...

Luther Vandross sang a pretty song. Brian Stokes Mitchell knew what it was to be Don Quixote. Think Vandross was trying to play the part of a deranged old man on a chivalrous quest for insanity? No. He just thought the song was nice and did his own rendition.
Mitchell knows the character, and the meaning of the song. Vandross just knew the notes.

He's so funny. I love him so much. Go Brian!

you are a fool and obviously have no understanding or respect for Broadway, because that's what this is: a Broadway song not an R&B song, Mitchell and Luther Vandross cannot be compared because they are nothing alike

Eh-hem! Attention, everyone!!! A HATER has been located! Beware!

wow, you're accepting...
How terrific! Even without the inspirational lyrics, it's a helluva song. And Brian Stokes Mitchell is one of the finest stage singers on the planet. Very cool how he didn't grandstand that fact to demonstrate his point - though man, he'dve KILLED the HELL out of that song if he had. I already loved him...now I luuurve him!
