  • I get what you mean about it not really being a "Wonder Woman" story. Diana feels like a secondary character in her own book, while Zola, Strife, Hippolyta, Zeus, & Hermes feel like the main characters. Did you at least feel sympathetic towards Hera in this issue :(

  • @Booncier Yeah I felt a lot more sorry for Hera then I did with Zeus because now he has become just a rat leaving the sinking ship and god knows how many times Zeus has been unfaithful to Hera.

  • Considering your complaints of Johns's recent work, is he really one of your favorite writers anymore?

Also, while I agree on the Mirror being a something of a cliche, I find his perspective on miracles being a bad thing very intriguing.

  • @OwlEye2010 Yeah, other writers like Garth Ennis have been more appealing to me of late.

  • @raporfest Garth Ennis? Hmm. I recall Linkara pointing out that he didn't like his run on Superman.

  • @OwlEye2010 No he didn't do a run on Superman. He had Superman appear in an issue of Hitman and he mentioned despite him hating Ennis's work, he liked how he handled Superman. Ennis is known for being like the Quentin Tarantino of comics with his work on Preacher, Hitman, Crossed, Chronicles of Wormwood, etc

  • I see your point on WW so far. Issue 4 definately made Diana feel like a side character (since she's only in 50-something % of it), but for me, as a WW story, is isn't too bad, despite its flaws. And quite frankly, at this point, I'm sorta thinking that, to a certain extent, this is what JMS's shitty run should've been.

  • The only thing I didn't like about Action Comics #4 was Steel's costume. It just wasn't as cool as his old suit. Maybe if he had the steel mask, I'd be okay with it.

  • @OwlEye2010 To me, it never felt like sneaking sex scene in it. He just though it should be there as part of the story.

  • This isnt the first time you mentioned, Geoff Jonhs taking villains back to silver age roots and giving them cliche backgrounds ect.I have to agree, atleast when it comes to Superman villains.

But you specificly said, he gives them "my family died" thing.

Like when? Except Superboy Prime, Alexander Luthor Jr. and maybe Black Manta, I cant think of any villain he wrote, who had that.

  • Cyborg is becoming the Bandit Keith of the Dc new 52 Universe! xD In America!

  • I got my hands on Justice League #4 and I dont like the way Johns is writing the league.

They behave like a bunch of bickering children. The way Hal is written makes me wonder how Geoff could write Hal so well in Green Lantern Rebirth all the way to Blackest Night and then just forget it all and make Hal a "all I want to do is impress people" guy. Makes me yern for JLA under Grant Morrison.

  • Nice review on Godzilla Legends. I'm going to wait and get a compiled graphic novel format as opposed to each individual monthly issue.

  • To me Cyborg in Justice League is the tokken black guy.

  • @raporfest Poor Hera's title as "The Goddess of Marriage" has become nothing but an ironic joke :(
