  • I got two kitties today from the SPCA to foster. One of them is really feral compared to the ones I've taken care of before.I do hope in 3 weeks time, she will be sitting on my lap.

  • @HattieLovesCattie Well, did she come around. Depending how old she is will determine how long it will take and the level of patience needed. She her a lot of attention and love.

  • @ccookla The calmerb/w one sat on our laps 3 days later. The little black one took 3 weeks but she was tired of me picking her up all the time. She hissed then a day or so later she stopped that but would growl often.I had them for a month and they got adopted very fast,1 day for the b/w one and the black one 2 days after being fixed.

  • @HattieLovesCattie That is wonderful news! You did a great job! Thank you for fostering... it saves lives! :-)

  • aww, I hate an orange tabby kitten too :-)

  • @septembergirl8618 Did you mean I HAVE an orange tabby kitten too?

  • @tgifthurs I don't need to look up the definition of "feral." I know what it means. We had to trap these kittens (nine of them) and they were feral... hissing, spitting, etc. However, they were young enough to be tamed. Marjan was by far the easiest to tame and is very friendly and affectionate and was adopted into a great home! You obviously have had no dealings with feral kittens. Once they are about 12 weeks old, it is much harder to tame them.

  • I captured two feral kittens with my bare hands. Got them used to being fed, then snatched them up while they were eating. Had no problem with them. The vet had trouble listening to

the chest of one of them because he would not stop purring. She had to put him on the counter next to the sink and cut the water on to get him to stop. I have had them since Oct/Nov '11 and had no trouble. One looks like a ragdoll, and the other is black and sleek.

  • Identical twins!

  • They are beautiful!

  • @ccookla Thanks.I hope to get more kittens in a few weeks.

  • They're so beautiful! XD

  • Mmmm. Put some mayo on there and you have a beautiful meal
