I know how you feel because i have the same feeling when I see someone with awesome 3D skills, anyway the best shorcut is to pratice and pratice again and again...even failing is part of the process, so if you fail at something get up and go on !!

That face is bang on- most people have a hard time trying to translate anime style into a realistic one but I believe you nailed them!

Oh man it will be difficult for me because my english is getting pretty bad actually (i really don't use it often) but you can check ryan kingslien video of zbrush he is a master of it and check also zack petroc he is also a monster!!
