http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhtlNCNJTCY shows a longer version of this video. This includes only part of the coyote portion. It shows a good close-up of a big male coyote hunting for prey.

Shows coyote in its normal behavior pattern of hunting, stalking prey and eating. A bird was found near the coyote's location, that it possibly had killed.

**Coyotes can run at speeds up to 43 mph and can jump over 4 meters. It runs with its tail down. Some coyotes found in the east can weight over 100 lbs (see http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:WN3D-Pm0RMAJ:icwdm.org/wildlife/coyotes....). Comments and videos show these monster coyotes, e.g. see the discussion under, "Coyote attack," at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT6sePYyeL0. (Some may be hybrids, such as of wolf and coyote.)

The coyote (Canis latrans) is also called the prairie wolf. It is a mammal belonging to the order carnivora and related to the domestic dog. They range from Panama through Canada. The name coyote came from Mexican Spanish. The Latin name means barking dog. Nineteen subspecies exist. Its fur is grayish-brown to yellowish-brown and can be black or white. It has a long bushy tail. The coyote is very vocal with a number of sounds including barks, yips, whines, growls, and howls.

Coyotes rarely attack humans (but the frequency is much less than attacks by domestic dogs) and the coyotes are often provoked. A published paper on the subject given on a government site can be found at: http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/awm/docs/coyoteattacks.pdf

  • Was That A Real Bird....

  • yes

  • doubt that the bird, which looks like a female Baltimore Oriole, would have been the victim of a coyote. One, coyotes are not know to be adept at catching healthy song birds and I would think there would be more bird eaten if it was a coyote kill. Looks more like it was hit by a car, judging by the fact that it's on asphalt and is in one piece with just a hint of body fluids of some kind around the beak area.

Okay, I feel like a complete nerd now, but that's what I think. Cool shots

  • I just found it there after I saw the coyote. I don't know whether the coyote killed it or not.

  • @sandmankid YES YOU ARE A PREDATOR HUNTTER

  • A beautiful male coyote!

  • @sandmankid :O do you.... kill the wolfies???

  • @irishgopher I am a longtime predator hunter (Fox, Coyote, Bobcat) In northern Wisconsin and the noise that gets those dogs excited the most is bird distress. I have had 11 wolves come to bird distress. Sometimes I will spot a coyote in a marsh and do a rabbit distress or any other sound in the book, howls, pup distress, fawn cries, etc and it wouldnt even look at me until I did bird noises.

  • @heyblomeAGAIN close the shit

  • u didnt even shoot wow

  • Where do you find music like that? Very mellow.

  • We don't even think about pointing a rifle at the coyotes on our property. The only things they hurt are the rabbits, we got too many of those bastards anyways. Our dog is half coyote and half great pyrenees too.

  • @irishgopher Nerrrddd!

  • @IAmTheCthulhu Haha your a tool.
