wow!! from 2 minutes, he begins to take over this piece. What command. what music, drama, and superb nuance.. you always feel calm whatching him, knowing you're gonna get a great performance before he gives it, Wow.

I have Schneiderhan Recording of this Concerto with Eugen Jochum. He played the cadenza of Beethoven's which written from themes of the Concerto melodies. Of course this one here is by Joacim, and it could be easily noticed from the famous strikes at the beginning

Yes indeed, Kogan is considered one of the best Violinist Playing Joachim cadenzas botth in Beethoven's as well as Brahms' Violin Concerti. This cadenza is much more difficult than that of Kreizler.

i have the cadenza in front of me of wolfgang schneiderhan but it is not that one-could this one be the one from joseph joachim? i want to have it to play...it's very nice and i like the transition out of the cadenza

Kogan, a thin 5'5" tall man, played with more muscularity and manliness than did any other violinist on record. Case in point here with the Beethoven. Sensational.
