If you're using vinyl and timecode, you'll still need an audio interface. Most decks will require an audio interface with timecode CDs. The CDJ2000 has an audio interface built-in.

But if you own the CDJ 2000, you can control TSP with HID control, via a USB cable from the CD player into the computer. And then there is no need for a extra audio interface (you are using the built in soundcard in the CDJ). and just connect the CDJ into the mixer with RCA/Digital cables, and you are set to go (in this case, any mixer will do... no need for a built in sound card in the mixer (like the DJM 900) or an external soundcard (like the Audio 8 DJ))

That is not correct! The DJM 900 Nexus will be working as the audio interface (so no need for the Audio 8 DJ soundcard, if you are using Traktor Scratch Pro 2) if you want to use TSP2 with timecode vinyl or CD. (That why they say it's Traktor certified) If you are using Traktor Scratch Pro, you will need to upgrade to TSP 2.

does anyone know if you can still do away with the audio interface if you are using decks and timecode vinyl? or does it only work with digital equipment routed through a hub?
