This is a vid from my tour in Iraq (10/04 to 9/05) This vid was taken from one of the military blimps in Baghdad, Iraq.

The first VBIED was detonated and as soldiers showed up and the Medics arrived in their Blackhawk, the 2nd VBIED was detonated! Watch how quickly the Blackhawk zips outta there!

Yeah, because nobody would EVER nuke us back.... Come on, seriously?

  • I was the gunner on the first truck in this attack and the video was passed around in the unit by a friend who worked the blimp. I was part of the 256 infantry brigade attached with the 1-69 and a very great soldier and friend was lost so if anyone has a comment about it and would like to talk in person I would love to set you straight

  • @ArtDLGJR No, drivers of vbied's operate by themselves as it's obviously a suicide mission - Not like they have a squad of infantry with them for fire support lol

  • I remember Rte Irish well, as much as north bound on Rte Tampa up the Taji. When I think of Irish i think of those overpasses and that 'winged dude' near BIAP. Irish was one 'hairy assed' trip... I was Op Catalyst (Australian commitment to Iraq) 06/07...... thanks for the memories....

  • only explosions, no firefight, were there any enemy combatant engaged?
