If you're thinking of vacationing here.. DON'T!
If you're thinking about purchasing a house on Clearlake or vacationing here.. THINK TWICE.
AVOID THIS LAKE!!!
You cant swim in it JULY and AUGUST, fish pop up dead everywhere and the smell from the combination of algae and dead fish is worse than a hot sweaty room with no windows full of dirty infested hookers.
AVOID THIS LAKE UNTIL THE HYDRILLA IS REMOVED.

"Dude".. the Lake's ignored conditions are starting to make people and animals sick. No hate just a movement to show the seriousness of this issue.

I live in one of the nicest places on this lake and love it.. when it's not hot turning the lake to sludge. Just trying to bring attention to a matter that need to be addressed. I dont live on a lake so that I can go swimming in one 30+mins away.

Since 6/2009 Clear Lake has been had toxic cyanobacteria aka blue-green algae. The cyanobacteria infestation has caused the Lake County Environmental Health Department to issue a public warning for people and pets to stay out of the water. The cyanobacteria produces toxins known to

cause internal organ failure along with being carcinogenic in humans. Clear Lake supplies municipal water to many communities and it is not clear that water plants are equipped to filter cyanobacteria toxins NOT OK

Dude, the lake is shallow and grows algae when it warms up. Hydrilly is like AIDS for lakes and probably will never be removed. Fact is, there's Blue Lakes for swimming which is the best place I've ever swam at really. I live here and I would vacation here... Especially if you have boats, dirt bikes, etc.. Whats up with the hate? I am a true city boy and would love to live in the city but its really not that bad here.....
