This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written, and it never even ended up on a triffids album!
I reckon the Arcade Fire would do a ripping cover of this

@HeadlandRoad I didn't mean to use the adjective in any derogatory way. I mean it positively. Where I live, nobody knows who the Triffids are, especially anyone born after 1987.

If it can't be said in 41 seconds it's not worth saying. I especially like the way they build up to an unresolved climax but then leave us wanting more.

That was (IMO) one of the best Australian Indie singles of all time (Hot Records, Cat. No. "HOT 707") by a truly great (& very) Australian band, The Triffids. This song defines the term "bittersweet" for me & is joyous, rightous experience for me every time I hear it. To nzoz1984, thanks for posting this & all the other great stuff as well.
