hahah i love them. susan is absolutely hilarious as a regular person (and amazing as a singer of course). i saw her masterclass once and she was so funny i just about cried (or peed) with laughter!! and diana is lovely 'ja...ja...' so german and just...ah. its awesome. thanks for posting. :-)

This was totally adorable! So even the greatest coloratura soprano alive faces challenges every once in a while, and is too nervous to even think of them. Well, I actually think her braveness is in (besides not running away of such challenging roles, of course) saying this. We know some people are out there just looking for a way to affect us, so it's useful not to be so open about insecurities, but doing so, on the other hand, encourages singing students like me. (:

I heard Damrau when she opened as Lucia at the Met. She brought down the house. She was fantastic and, her body language during the curtain call indicated she knew just how good she was.
