I remember watching the very first episode when Channel 4 was first broadcast back in the early 80's. Don't live very far from Brookside Close now but have seen other video's on You Tube and it's so sad to see it overgrown and neglected.

Brookside was great in the 80's. I hated it when The Dixons replaced The Collins family, i thought the producers were wrong to axe them after 8 years when Doreen ( Annabelle ) Sloane died.

You are so right-Brookside definitely went downhill in the 1990s until it ended in 2003. Its best time was when it started in 1982 through the '80s to the early '90s in my view.

Was great... til the old woman who was dying of cancer was literally crawling up the wall screamin in pain! Disgusting. And after that it went downhill and all you saw was Jimmy and Tinhead being gangsta's, was all too much doom and gloom - pity.
