  • i have a small room i was going to try this . Does the water give of an odor after a while? The room is beside my tv room

  • @watchdaride I don't think so...

  • 1) Do you have a cover for that reservoir? It looks like a planter I've seen at home depot. Probably not a good idea if you don't have a top...lets in contaminants and allows algae.

    2) How come you're not using an air stone or some other aerator in the reservoir? I would think that would improve the amount of oxygen in the nutrient solution.

Otherwise great build...probably going to build the exact same thing. Thanks for the tips!

  • @s0medo0od Yes, i do have a cover, I use this outside and you're right it would be a mess. I have used an airstone, but the water that drains into the tank falls about 18 inches and creates some bubble and turbulence. I didn't notice much difference when using stone and it was just one more thing the break and maintain...

  • Thank you for putting this together. Why is the light hanging BELOW the NFT system?

  • @kultofcows The light is used for seed starting tray. I bought a seed starter tray, with lid and wicking mat, place under the florescent shop lights. Rockwool starter cubes, no nutrients for 24/7 until true leaves form. Then I move to the garden.

  • @kultofcows I think I answered you, but if not, I hang some fl tubes for seed starting.

  • @kultofcows I think 6 inches on my original build, but on a re-do I'd space 8 inches to give the plant more room. Something I learned, after growing.

  • The video also mentions 1.5" holes that each are 8" apart from the center of the hole. I count 7 holes on each channel. The specifications use a 48" pipe for the channel. One of these measurements must be wrong...how many inches are there between each hole?
