Funny how times change. I'm sure at the time Coke considered it trademark infringement & didn't want their name associate with such a controversial subject. Flash forward a few decades--- NOW rather than suing to have it taken out, they would probably PAY huge 'product placement' fees to have their product named in a pop song about such a progressive song promoting a gay or transgendered lifestyle!

Being an old guy, what I remember the DJs saying way back when, was that the Coca-cola was changed to cherry cola because Lola couldn't get airplay in England because their mostly non commercial stations radio weren't allowed to play anything with copyrighted/patented/licensed etc names in them. So there were two versions of Lola, the American version, (Coca-cola) and the British version (cherry cola).

@KitTyrocKerluv dude, the kinks literally wrote the song, I think they know the lyrics lol

FANTASTIC to HEAR LOLA performed as it was originally written and recorded,Tastes Like COCA-COLA,before they were forced to change it to CHERRY-COLA because of copyright legal action from COCA-COLA.
