  • I never seen a Windows 7 booting that long

  • @darekdd You obviously haven't seen an education department managed computer system then... =)

  • do any games work on ubuntu? i seriously want one i heard you don't get much viruses.

  • @boredoflife227 A lot more game developers are beginning to make games compatible with Linux, in fact the "Humble Indie Bundle" has games that area pretty cool, made for Linux.

If you're talking about games you already have on a Windows machine, probably not. You can use programs like CrossOver and Wine that try to run the game via emulation, personally it didn't work well.

  • Cool channell so far I subbed.

  • Thumbs up if your watching this on ubuntu!

  • @HelpMeAtPc I don't know anything about computers? If you have a HDD with a crappy RPM speed then the speed of the proccessor or the amount of RAM you have won't have any effect, you need a combination of hardware that can meet the the requirements of the other parts.

The HDD does intact play a big part in the booting process as it contains all the required boot up files to the operating system.

And don't get me started on dual booting!

  • @NewKeepSharing31 i know XD ubuntu FTW!

  • @Xaahu wow its amazing :D

  • @bolfaron mines boots in 3 sex!

  • U must have a crapy CPU

  • Wtf? My win7 starts up in max 30 sec and ubuntu in 20

  • my ubuntu 11.10 boots up in 12 seconds.

  • @boredoflife227 u dont get any viruses and yes most games work on it.

  • I'd recommend defragging with IOBit smart defrag, run a boot time defrag occasionally, running Piriform CCleaner weekly, and clearing out the crap. It'll cut boot times in half, I'm sure.

  • You must have one damn bloated Windows 7 install. Mine boots in 40 seconds and don't say it's because I have a new-fangled SSD because I boot that fast on your average 7200 rpm spinner. Of course I have a fast processor and assloads of RAM but the hard drive is the limiting factor. Do you happen to have a 1GHz single core processor, 1g of ram, and a fragmented as hell 5400rpm disk drive?
