It is impossible to love America and not respect Thomas Jackson. He served the United States in the Mexican War and defended his state against his own government. Regardless of your opinion of secession, Lincoln did not even try to avoid war.

We have DC, the FED and Wall Street in cahoots robbing the taxpayers of billions of dollars each year and pouring them into off shore banks. They end up in Sheik's bank accounts or they are used to fund more phony Wars in the middle of nowhere against countries that are of no threat. The Globalists are nefariously gutting this country. The Socialists have their hooks in. True unabridged Freedom has been destroyed. In maybe 50 years they're going to start talking about a World Government.

@DukeofWellington91 My friend. You seem to have a firm grasp on what you're referring to. All of what was foretold by the Confederacy has come true. And you listed them perfectly. We have over 900 military bases in close to 150 countries. We have over 20 million illegal immigrants, a currency that has been purposely defiled, an enormous debt, an environment thrashed by massive industry.
When Nullification died, this country chose a path of self destruction.

@Sybok51288 It is a said observation that America has become over the years many of the things that its founders despised. Interventionist, imperialistic, jingoistic, centralised, disregarding of the will of the people, disdainful of self-determination, blindly loyal to the state and willing to sacrifice liberty for security. Jefferson once said that the greatest form of patriotism is dissent, yet today such people of ridiculed and marginalised in American society, it is a sad thing to see.

By your logic Jefferson and Washington were traitors to the British Crown.

Our founding fathers created a government with limited powers, after the Union won the Civil War, they became, "Big Government". Even to this day they are "Big Government". This is why more and more protests and occupy that city and occupy that city. In reality, North and South lost in the long run.

Any personal attacks or posts that disparage the memory of any solider from either side will be expunged by me, post haste. They WILL NOT BE TOLERATED....
If need be, I will activate the "no comment" option. If one can not honor their memory then don't post. REMEMBER !!! The grandsons of both sides fought and died, shoulder to shoulder in the The Battle of Belleau Wood, 1918 under the Stars and Stripes. As well as all across Europe in WW II and are comrades to this day !

@71superbee3 I also remember that they and their sons fought in the Imperial War of the now reconstituted Union against the people of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Phillipines.
