Ahhh... local TV commercials can have an undefinable appeal. Here's are some "highlights" from the Renaissance Music Media reel, with Mr. G. doing his best/worst Mr. T impression. This was a great independent music store and is sorely missed!

  • Man - Thankyou for this! I remember these ads well, and miss Renaissance

alot. Geoff could be grouchy at times, but he was so knowledgeable, and

stocked so many Heavy Metal/Rock imports - more than anywhere else at the

time. It was at his place that I first discovered a small band called Metallica!

It was 1984,and I saw the album "Ride The Lightning" for the first time. It was

that way with many bands - he turned me on to them first. Years before they

were big acts. Loved the Cat also!

  • @swann62 me too im 43 and also worked summer jobs to buy albums ended up with pretty impresive album collection...by the way he had a bit part in dawn of the dead the original and a prop from the movie in his store

  • I used to spend almost every dime I made at my summer jobs, and later at my full time job at this place!!! Coolest record store on the planet. He also helped out a lot of local bands , letting them post show flyers. Sadly missed.

  • My first record store. Great memories.

Tell Geoff and Skyp I hope their doing well.

Yes post more RMM ads. Mr. G rocks!

  • Please post more of these. I went to UD and shopped at RMM regularly-thanx to those ads. It was easier to walk down to 2nd Time Around, but RMM were punk rock!

  • Geoff and Skyp (the owner and manager of the now defunct RMM) are good friends of mine. I have a copy of the master tape with several more of these commercials on them, and if they don't mind, I will try to post more of them. Entertaining stuff.

  • My favorite of the four, by far, is the Mr. G as Santa clip!
